Happy New Year to all! Well, this is my first official post and I'm excited to have a format to journal.
2010 promises to be a busy year - I hope I can keep up with it! I recently decided to take a new career path, and at 53 (almost 54) it's sort of a scary proposition. I have been a paraeducator for 10 years, working with behavioral challenged middleschool students. This year I am working with students with Asbergers. I have decided to work toward becoming an RN. I just passed my state boards for CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), which is one of the prereqs for many of the nursing schools. I am enrolled in three prereq classes and hope to get into one of the nursing school programs within a year or two. The programs are very competetive, so we'll see how soon this happens!
I'm wondering if I'm going to have time to create new things for my business, Genesis Creations. . . Besides working and going to school, I also tutor three days per week after work. Plus I'm thinking about finding a job as a CNA a couple nights a week. Oi!!
I have four grown children and one beautiful Granddaughter, Genesis. She makes my heart smile and I'm really excited that she is going to have a little brother or sister in April. Grandchildren are the best!
I'm making some goals for 2010 - actually feeling the need to set some priorities to actually make it through 2010! I'll post my list once it's created. For now, enjoy 2010 and all that it may bring!

Handmade Creations for Children & Adults
The name "Genesis Creations" was inspired by the birth of my first grandchild, Genesis Marcia Gail Miller on 5/12/2008. I was so excited that I took out my dusty crochet hook and knitting needles and began creating hats and booties. Then I started making head bands, bows, tutus, etc. I am hoping to post some tutorials for many of these items so others can join in the fun!
I also love to cook, so I'm also planning to include recipes with step-by-step pictures.
I was a stay-at-home/homeschool mom for 20 years and then went back into the workforce when my children started going to college. Now I have gone back to college to pursue a nursing degree & I'm having a great time!
